I'm new to OpenNMS. I followed the Install Guide, and it set up our test OpenNMS system with Oracle's JDK (jdk1.8.0_144). The Install Guide at https://docs.opennms.org/opennms/branches/develop/guide-install/guide-install.html specifically refers to the Oracle Java SE Development Kit 8. We're just going to switch to using OpenJDK, and update our internal documentation. Will The OpenNMS Group be issuing a statement and recommendation for the JDK to use going forward, or is there something already? For Example: https://access.redhat.com/articles/1299013 https://wiki.debian.org/Java I don't know what the support length of OpenJDK on Ubuntu/Debian is, but RHEL is longer than the Oracle support term. It seems that we might need to start paying for Oracle Java licenses to continue using OpenNMS??
