Yes, 1.3.4 was the most recent release in tar format.

Most of those downloads would be automated builders in distribution
build farms.

Distributions have cherry-picked patches for problems they have wanted
to solve.

I'd like to hear why a release is necessary, and see some test reports
of git HEAD.  The same can be said of pptp-linux, the client.

Isn't it more likely that distributions will move to Dmitry Kozlov's
drivers/net/ppp/pptp.c and https://github.com/winterheart/accel-pptp/ ?
