Hi,
I've been deploying an SILC server stand-alone (freeBSD 4.11). Since it
has been very good for the tests, we want to get further... ;-) !!!
I have a couple of questions regarding the setup.
First is how to dimension an SILC server for 500 users in the same time.
Is a P4 with 512 RAM enough? they will not talk in the same time but they
will talk anyways.
2sd, how would you react if I tell you that all the users will be checked
against a folder that includes their pubkeys or not? Is that going to
overhead the server in terms or performance?
Last question, is that possible to auth the users against an Active
Directory???
And the very last, if I do have two servers, can I setup the servers to
talk to each other in case a user is not connected to the first but to the
sercond? Can I mirror the content of the pubkeys directory from the one to
the other? What would happen is a pubkey is missing from the server the
guy is trying to get to?
Well, ok, if the user "john" is on the server 1 and the user "mathew" is
on server 2, while john will be connected to the first, he'll be able to
talk to "mathew"?
Thank you,
John
