A couple of issues

I installed tightvncserver on Ubuntu 20.04 (tightvncserver/focal,now 1.3.10-0ubuntu5 amd64) and am connecting from Windows using TightVNC viewer 2.8.55 and have a couple of issues:   
   - If I maximize my viewer window, the Ubuntu desktop doesn't maximize with the window - its size remains the same and there's a large border around it.  I can zoom in or use "scale: auto" but that's not really what I want.  I've had it working on a CentOS machine much better but I don't have that machine anymore.   
   

   - I can't get copy & paste to work well.  If I select text, right-click, and select Copy, the text is not available in the clipboard.  Not only is the Paste menu option under the right-click pop-up disabled but the text is not present in a regular Windows app such as Notepad either.
Can anyone suggest solutions?
