I've tried using the above settings, and a few variations.  When I exit 
TIN they vanish from my ~/.tin/tinrc file.  And, the last time I exited 
TIN not only did they vanish, but some of the above settings replaced the 
default settings in my tinrc file for all groups.

While the above thread settings make it very easy to navigate large binary 
groups, there seems to be a problem using multi-part, T, tagging.  Even 
for articles with no missing parts TIN says that parts are missing when I 
try to tag them.  How does one expand/collapse threads in TIN?  I found 
the GroupListThd, l, command but that just lists the current thread in a 
separate display.  I thought perhaps expanding the threads I'm trying to 
tag, then tagging them might help.
