Thank you for testing. I think this is a bug in Samba. Unison can't do much else here, being cross-platform. When building from sources, one can easily replace the leading dot in the temp prefix by something else, like an underscore. The temp prefix is currently fixed in the source. I don't think it is worth making it configurable but I'd hope the wider audience can weigh in here in case there is interest.
