Up until about 30 minutes before I commited the latest code, it
was unstable - mostly because it wasn't doing anything remotely like
downloading packages for me. Turned out I'd forgotten to make a change
in that codebase to compensate for the newer up2date clients that had
gone into the 1.4 series; once I found that, it started working.
I hate one-line errors that break the world.
