Re: extra gear

I use the eTrex/Keyspan combo and like it, but it's spendy. If you're
only using the GPS for NMEA and not as a standalone you don't need the
eTrex. I'd look for a USB powered NMEA only GPS. I believe you can
find those for around $50, whereas the eTrex with cable and keyspan
would be $180 (for the lowest model eTrex). The eTrex works great, but
it's overkill for just NMEA.
