I have never had good luck with Actiontec hardware. I have the non-WiFi version sitting at home. The thing loses its PPPoA session with my ISP after a couple days, and requires a power cycle.

Apparently, Qwest says this is "normal" and that this is how I should get my DSL service working.

Verizon is also shipping Actiontech APs, at least here in Kirkland,
that's what they shipped me when I signed up for their $30/month
service this month. It is a model GT 704 WG and seems to
have the odd quirk that I couldn't connect to the 4 ethernet
ports or get the account up and running, without running MSIE6
and their CDROM software (on windows). So I hauled out an old
computer, and infected that with all their "stuff" and gave it
to my son...  but I connect to the wireless segment without it.

Re the SSID, it comes with SSID and a 64 bit WEP key on the sticker
on the bottom, and WEP enabled, I have never bothered to
change them,

Qwest DSL rules the land, especially with the recent deployment of many

routers.

Sounds like its worse than the linksys community network ;)

I see this one at many places in the South Hill Area. Anyone know
who/what
it is?
