Where does a telnet to such a set up lead you to? The router or your
box? Once you successfully log in using telnet into the *router*, it
is not too difficult (unless you are a real wizard) to get into your
box. (who cares for the web config tool??)

I trust my box because it rung GNU/Linux and I can harden it to my
liking. I do not trust the router because I do not know what it runs
and have no idea about how to harden it.

Of course, I can configure the set up such that my m/c is a client,
but then I have to harden both the box and the router, which is double
the job.

I am open to correction tho`.
