Yes.  All things are a trade off between functionality and
reconfigurability.

I used to see computers and technology as an end in itself, now I
appreciate it more as what it really is.  A support tool.  Not a primary
industry in it's own right.  But as a function to helping the real
aspects of real business get on with the job (Accounting, tax,
manufacturing, health, law, economics, science, medicine, policy
enforcement, communication, education, etc.....)  Without other industry
why would anyone need computers and IS?  (Please don't confuse my point
with 'computer science' which is a different kettle of fish)
