Bzzzt.  Wrong.  Read the sentence again.  ;-)  What do you think the

My point was, that you have lept on an apparent attack on China (by
myself apparently) when my comments are completely in line with previous
threads.  Consistency is my point here.

As someone who is engaged in a debate where the two people are arguing
different things, I politely ask you to read my post in full and get
your facts straight.

I ain't angry - far from it.  I also believe that this thread now - on
an incorrect understanding of my initial post - is destroying the chance
for a good discussion on a good topic that encompasses many issues we
are all fond of.  China, technology, development and social
change/adaption.    ;-(

I don't mind debate at all.  But a debate where each team is using a
different definition is not a debate, just two speeches.

I truly think that you have done a severe injustice to what could have
been a great casual topic for this recently sleepy list to sink their
teeth into.
