Also, give VLC a try, i've had a lot of luck with it in the past ... i frequently use it on MacOS X instead of quicktime. http:// www.videolan.org/vlc/ 2) The iPod playing music isn't dependent on the OS you are running. If you mean playing the iTunes music you bought on Apple's iTMS then you are out of luck using Free/Open software. Couple things you can do though: I) burn all your iTMS purchases to CD and rerip them as mp3s, to strip the DRM II) run iTunes through wine (http://www.winehq.com/) III) There are other options to strip the DRM from the music ... but they are of questionable legality so i don't want to actually recommend them. *cough*google playfair*cough* If you meant syncing your iPod with your music take a look at gtkPod (http://www.gtkpod.org/about.html) Mike.
