Not sure about the specifics here (budget, how much of the walls will be
open).  If you open a fair amount of wall space and don't run some cable
I can almost guarantee you will regret it later.  The cost of pulling
cable through open walls makes is almost a tip in call and even more so
for technical people.  Counting on wifi seriously limits your options
for so many things (remote receivers over cat 5), telephony use, wifi
interference/noisy areas, high bandwidth applications, etc.  I've
installed structured wiring installs in about 15 houses so far and not
one of them has regretted it.  I universally hear about how they ever
lived without it.
