Which comcast package? 256k up is what I get from my residential service once the throttle kicks in. I tried to ask the business sales rep about it and he started spewing marketing gibberish: "that is the turbo feature where you get faster speeds to speed up downloads, business class does not offer that feature." me: "no no, its not a feature, its a restriction." him: "well we don't offer it, sorry." me: is there an SLA that guarantees me a minimum bandwidth? "the listed speeds are a maximum that depends on your usage patterns" or something. I gave up. > > Hope this helps, > > On Tue, 2011-03-22 at 13:24 -0500, Carl Karsten wrote: >> att looking good: >> >> >> >> """ >> comcast throttles uploads - seems like after 10mb speed drops to >> 256kbs - does att do anything like that? >> >> Cason: AT&T U-verse Internet service is based on Fiber Optics >> technology and the advantage of this service is you receive the speed >> faster as the data carried over Fiber Optics is an laser signals, >> wherein the data carried over cable is an electric signals, the other >> fact is cable is shared connection so the speed you receive with cable >> Internet is shared and the speed fluctuate, but with AT&T U-verse >> Internet service this would not be the case, you will receive constant >> speed without any fluctuation, I assure you receive the best service >> with AT&T U-verse and also find the value of your money. >> >> me: url? >> >> Cason: I am sorry, we do not have URL for that. >> """ >> >> There is a 250gig/month cap, $10/g over URL for that: >> http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB409045#fbid=Z0rYePBJXtO >> >> http://www.att.com/u-verse/shop/customize.jsp# >> 24/3 for >> $250 setup + $50/m * 12 month + $65/m * 12m = >> >>> 250 + 50*12 + 65*12 >> 1630 >> >> compared to comcast: >> >> http://business.comcast.com/Internet/plans.aspx >> basic: 12/2 and funky throttles (at least on my home connection) >> >>> 60*24 >> 1440 >> >> glad I asked, cuz comcast was looking like the better choice. stupid >> marketing depts. >> >> On Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 5:52 PM, W.
