Re: MythTV HD and DRM

I use mythtv, hdhomerun, pchdtv, and several other tv tuner cards for
a while.

On comcast over the last several months many new channels have been
added. about 12 HD and 60 in QAM? Unfortunately, half are Hispanic.
Most have shown up in the last month. I've heard most channels are
going to flip to QAM and only select will be the atsc format.
Something about a legal issue by forcing everyone to use their digital
boxes. Until I see it, I won't believe that.

On the directTV, I use an old direct tv box with the serial input. It
works great recording S-video input.  Thought if Comcast goes all
encrypted, I'll move to that.


For the hdhomerun, I got it to see what I could do with it.  Right now
I have a myth on a VMware ubuntu.  Works pretty well.

As a side note, with fancast, hulu, netflix, and such.  The tuner is
becoming pointless.
