That's helpful. I'd been looking at ATA adapter such as the Linksys  
PAP2T-NA, which has pretty good reviews on Amazon.  I wasn't aware of  
the Patton adapters

The PBX-in-a-flash site seems to recommend the Aastra phones. I've  
heard good things about Snom phones.

At this point I haven't gotten past the research phase, but when I  
test some actual hardware I'll post the results.  For home use I think  
Adric's suggestion of using an ATA adapter appliance seems to be the  
easiest route to VoIP.
