| It is not very useful as is, if I take only the States where people may
| speak French:
| France, Canada, Switzerland, Belgium
|
| but in the last three ones, you have also another language(s):
| Canada: English
| Switzerland: German, Italian, Roman
| Belgium: Dutch, German
|
I know. See my second mail which I just sent :)
<snip>
| There are two problems here: first languages for which no pages are not
| translated at all and need a debut, the dummy pages maybe useful here.
That is the only occasion where I would use it.

| Though I don't find the refresh or click very user-friendly, but I
| cannot think of another way to do it, maybe a refresh is better than a
| click, provided that the delay is very short, but hence you may not have
| the opportunity to read the message.

The delay has to be long enough that the message has been read. We can
set a cookie on that page so that the user does not visit the page
again. There are lots of ways to make it more user friendly. I just
think that we need to draw attention that way, it is an opportunity and
we should not let it pass by.
|
| Second, languages for which some pages are already translated, here a
| message at the top of the main page seems better to me. The message is
| here, (maybe translated into the language, better than in English), but
| the user can read the pages already translated.

Yes of course.

|
| I think that a message in a native Mac forum may give more feedback. And
| also a real support on the mailing list.
|
For that you would need someone capable of speaking both. English and
the native language. The system I am proposing indirectly verifies that
they are capable of doing both. Of course such a template can also
explain how then could help and what they can do to spread the word and
get better feedback from their community.
