We could make the installation a non-default option instead. I will take
a look at how to get rid of python. Besides the stupid bloat caused by
it, we might even get in to a chicken and egg situation on some systems
where python needs a newer gcc to build, which cannot be built without
python. 

Building a separate py-gcc47 package with just the python files and the
shell scripts using them could cause a lot of maintainance problems. But
I will look for a solution.
