Steve et.al., The pictured plant is quite different than the plants I have had pointed out to me as 'Hummel' hybrdis. They are generally have much thinner leaves, minimal or no teeth, and are various shade of green with various shades of red to brown margins. There are also numerous leaves. This plant is beautiful but it doesn't look the A. attenuata x A. shawii hybrid that the Huntington and others are selling. That plants has leaves of the shape and number of the one in the photograph, but the teeth are much less prominent and so is the terminal spine. In addition, the leaves are soft, nearly pliable, and just a bit darker than A. attenuata. But then if these hybrids are being grown from seed, which some were originally at least, there could be a number of 'types' floating around.
