Re: carfree in the country

I would think that people live outside of the city because they can 
afford that, and once fuel prices continue to go up they must anyway 
live nearer to the city center (not at the center, but close, so it 
would be affordable for them) and have a commute that is easy to do in 
public transport, bicycle or walking. Part of the whole problem has been 
the lack of proper pricing policies of fuel and vehicles, which is now 
being "naturally" readjusted with the rise of price of petrol.
