WCN AGM 2009

[message intended for WCN Individual Members - apologies for clogging the inboxes of others]
 
Dear carfree people,
 
Apologies for the late communication regarding our AGM and seminar in Prague next month.
 
We have now published the final agenda for the 2009 AGM - to be held in Prague on 7 November - which we hope you'll find both interesting and easier to follow than in previous years. As part of our drive (excuse the pun) to make it easier for you to participate, we will be using an online forum to discuss four topics on the AGM agenda. Individual Members and representatives of Member Orgs can register for this and find instructions at http://agm2009.50.forumer.com/index.php.
 
The idea is that we initiate one topic per week:
 

From 6 October: Strategic Plan: the vision, aims and values of World Carfree Network. Once decided, how do we achieve our objectives? Facilitated by SC members Simon Field and Pippa Gallop.
13 October: Steering Committee election. This is for Members to put their questions to steering committee candidates standing for election at the AGM. Facilitation: to be confirmed.
20 October: Global Statutes - rules pertaining to the operation of WCN. Facilitated by Simon Field.
27 October: Project priorities for 2010. Facilitated by Tanja Eskola from WCN in Prague.
 
By doing this, we avoid bombarding everyone with e-mails and you can make comments at any time. All will become clear once you have registered - this is new for us, so please be patient if there are technological or other glitches along the way. The views gathered online will then be used to make decisions directly or feed into further discussions at the physical meeting. Either way, all comments will be taken on board.
 
We hope as many of you as possible will take the opportunity to help shape our new and improved Strategic Plan in particular.
