Yes, goatheads will stick to (deeply into!) tires, shoes, and feet. https://picasaweb.google.com/LyleBogart/Drakkar#5516582547694901122 the last two pics show the soles of my crocs following a typical ride in goathead country (on the Navajo reservation in Arizona); spikes of the goatheads are still in those shoes to this day and occasionally work their way through to my feet. . . I use Marathon XRs on my bikes and have had zero flats. I would expect the Marathon Plus to offer similar protection (mind the sidewalls, though).
