For the record: High Desert Bicycles (established about four or five
years ago in Rio Rancho, of all places! and now grown to two large
locations) carries mostly high end crabon fibre, road and mountain,
but also an array of Amersterdams, kiddie bikes including tiny
kickers, and cruisers. Beside pumps, gloves, chains and battery tail
lights, they don't carry much that I need. BUT -- and it is a BIG BUT!
-- they will happily order and build up weird things for me including
Shimano Dynohub wheels, SnoCat wheels with rims shipped from
Anchorage, bearing replacement on old Phils, replacing the
ever-cracking alloy nipples on my Revolutions with brass, ordering odd
size cogs (15 t outer? 22 t?) all with a great smile -- Dave, who
replaced Jesse, is just as good and just as friendly and Greg is a
very nice guy, too.
