I never had any of the 5.5-8000 dip that you mention. Mine behaved
perfectly from 28 to 104 degrees F and from sea level to 6000+ feet.
So, I don't have an answer for what caused yours to behave so
differently. I thought there were a couple other folks that tried my
recommendations and were extremely happy with them. In any event, this
jetting sure did the job for me without any glitches whatsoever. You
pays your money and makes your choice. If you want to play it safe
with a decent midrange increase and great throttle response, leave the
filter and airbox stock, get a good quality slip-on or full pipe, use
3 turns on the screws, two shims, and 140 mains, leaving the air slide
holes stock. Enjoy the ride. Cheers, Jack
