This refers to the signalling rate that the control channel uses. 9600
baud pure digital systems transmit consideribly more data via the
control channel, hence the need for a higher baud rate. The BCI25D card
will decode the audio on 9600 baud system, but it will not follow
trunking. Project 25 phase I C4FM(Constant Envelope 4-Level Frequency
Modulation) IMBE audio channel information is transmitted 9600 baud.
4.4 kbps for audio with 2.8 kbps for error correction and 2.4 kbps for
signalling. This is the same for 3600 baud or 9600 baud systems. Some
systems use QPSK(quadrature phase shift keying)instead of C4FM. This is
part of Project 25 phase II for use on 6.25 khz channels. Not sure if
the BCI25D will work with QPSK audio.

If you have come here to find out about the 250D you have come to the right place! In fact the discussion of the BC-250D and how it works is the only acceptable topic on this list. Any discussion about anything other than the BC-250D is OFF TOPIC. I hope this is clear to all group members..
