You are correct, you will need to step up to the plate with a Pro 96,
Pro 2096, BC296,BC396 or a BC796..

I hear a lot of good things on the BC 396,
<http://www.radioreference.com/wiki/index.php/BCD396T> It is close to
the same cost as the 296
<http://www.radioreference.com/wiki/index.php/BC296D >.. You should
atleast look at it first before you buy a 296.

I am up to my ears in scanners now (20) and know the wife would not
understand even slightly why I would need anther :-) But the 396 is
next on my list..

If you have come here to find out about the 250D you have come to the right place! In fact the discussion of the BC-250D and how it works is the only acceptable topic on this list. Any discussion about anything other than the BC-250D is OFF TOPIC. I hope this is clear to all group members..
