Thanks for the heads up Joe.   I was under the impression it was a usb to rs232 adapter.

Actually, the USB-1 goes from a USB port to the scanner connector for 
newer scanners and won't work on the 250D. It has no DB-9 connector.

A USB-RS232 adapter will have to be used. They can be picked up on eBay 
for as little as $5 shipped.
