Ralph, The simple answer is yes on both counts. I was abused by the hostess, we were getting close to Sydney coming in from Fiji, So I pulled the R2 out of my shirt pocket and upplugged the ear peice and was putting it away switched of of course and, she went crazy at me. Another time coming back from Norfolk Island I had the R2 in my carry on luggage but I had not used it during the flight. Customs Xrayed my bag and spotted the antenna of the R2. Customs then had to go through my bag and find the radio that fitted it, they were not happy with me and told me to leave it home next time. Neither time were they even polite about it. I hope that you noted customs finding my radio after the plane had landed, surely if it was a bomb they should have found it preflight.
