Well, you're definitely game for trying!  Could always make your own little
pigtail, it would be ugly but work.  Not so practical if you want to travel
with it.  Still, keep an eye on EBay, may be able to pick up the whole thing
for little to nothing.  I've had mine forever and still use it daily.  Only
reason I want to upgrade is local uses the Motorola protocols.  Spent years
at Loring AFB, Maine and have family land on Cape Breton.  Good luck in your

No luck so far finding a connector. What I did find out today.I took apart
the scanner and soldered the wires on pins 2,3 and 5 of a db9 to the correct
points on the CPU PCB. The virtual control worked fine but transfering
frequencies and IDs would not.Also the backup program would not work. It
looks like to do transfers you need the hand shaking lines for this to work.
Oh well I definetly will need a cable. Too hard to wire to all 9 connects in
the scanner.
