Hi Chris,
Have you tried doing a reset on the radio?

Subject: [FT100] Cat issue – cant read frequency
Trying to read frequency via Cat port on a FT-100 (not D) and I'm mostly getting garbage. Cat cable, baud rate and everything relating to communication is correct. Tried the program FT100_XE2NLM and it too has issues reading frequency. Strange thing is it can change the band, mode and it allows me to set the frequency fine. Another program, Ham Radio Deluxe also has issues reading frequency.
The corresponding Cat command (Status Packet) causing issue is 0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x10. It returns 16 bytes of which byte 0 is band, 1 thru 4 are the frequency. When I monitor these, they are all basically garbage as far as I can see and do not relate to frequency at all. I have looked at all 16 bytes returned and nothing in there looks to be correct for the frequency & yes, I have factored in the 1.25Hz step.
After 2 days pulling out my hair, I'm hoping someone has some insight.
