Any vague >ideas on cost to have it repaired? Mine did the same thing. Had a couple of vertical segments over to the left of the display go out. Never knew what memory channel I was on, etc. I figured it was too many tumbles off the headboard by my bed where it runs 24/7. I finally bit the bullet and sent it to Vertex Standard (who owns Yaesu), per the directions on their web site. Can't complain at all about their service. Got notification when they received it both by mail and by phone, got a phone call from the tech after he had looked at it and had the estimate ready etc. All told, they had to replace the LCD display, and while it was in I had them replace the gasketing on the headphone and DC adapter jacks because they had dried out and broken off. Total came to $121.87 USD, including return shipping. Almost half that ($62.86) was the new display, and this was in early March of this year. Directions for sending in products for repair to their US facility are located on this page: http://www.yaesu.com/?cmd=ContactUs&DivisionID=65 down the left hand side. Good luck. 73, Doug.
