>Sorry for delay in replying. I know that most scanners only have audio on one channel, so that's why I used a mono-stereo adapter. Have been using just the headphone plug by itself, with audio on the one side, not having problems now. It was probably causing a strain on the connection on the board. Looks like I will have to make do with one-track audio, or break the cable and connect both sides together. Many thanks for you help.
