According to the Yaesu Tech who evaluated same problem on mine after I
shipped it to them for a $75.00 fee: The display has to be replaced for just
short of $300. Thought about it foe less than nana second and had it shipped
back to me.
Bad policy, bad support.

Hi guys,

I have an older vr-5000 which has developed loss of vertical LCD lines. On
start up there are 5 lines missing and within an our it drops down to 2!
(heat issue?)

Any ideas on how to correct this?
