RE: RES: LCD lines

If the loss of a few "lines" was the only problem, might be able to live
with it.

However, along with the lines, the display is growing dimmer.

I'm ordering the new software.

Plenty of previous posts on this issue. I drilled the top and bottom case
halves to reduce the temperature which it has done, but no change in the
missing lines, both vertical and horizontal. I began to suspect the 100uF
capacitor on the back of the display board (which in my receiver is
parallelled by a 22000uF) and removed both of them and temporarily fitted a
new 22000uF but that made no difference. 

It seems strange that if the powere is removed for a few days, the number of
bad lines is increased but slowly reverts back to a stubborn few - today I
have only two verticals missing which go through the 'tens' of the channel
number. I guess I'll just live with it, or try the new software.
