hi, are Danald (IZ8DMZ), was wondering if there 'happened to you, I have a
problem with the display of my vr-5000, the problem is that there are strips
of blank when I turn it on, every time you turn on change, possible to know
if it 'a problem or e' to change the display?

but 'I do not think the display will cracked, I think that the welds are not
going well.

please if there 'some good soul that I can help solve this problem ..

Hi Ed,
Yes it can be upgraded. I had mine done by Yaesu UK 8 years ago, to version
1.7 This was to cure the problem of the radio locking up on AM-N
It's quite expensive as they have to change the main CPU. 
Suggest you contact Yaesu USA. Also search this group for firmware version.
Why do people find it necessary to post a reply,when they don't know the
answer?
