"Slave" who fell into clutches of sect is daughter of wartime codebreaker

The daughter of a Second World War codebreaker is one of three women 
"rescued" from a revolutionary Maoist group run by a couple accused of 
slavery.

The group's base was raided last week after Josephine Herivel, a member of 
the sect for at least 35 years, raised the alarm.

Police were urged yesterday to reopen an investigation into the death of 
one of the sect members, who is believed to be the mother of another of 
the rescued women.

Miss Herivel, 57, is the daughter of John Herivel, one of the leading 
codebreakers at Bletchley Park who deciphered the Enigma.../snip/
