Dear Listmembers, I am working on a printed edition of the Newmanry History, that is the General Report on Tunny with Emphasis on Statistical Methods, which is to be published by IEEE/Wiley. We are including brief biographies of people who are mentioned. Some have proved elusive. I am still looking for biographical information about 1. Thomas Joseph Eddleston 2. Brian S. Stratford 3. William (Bill) Tipler According to the records on the Bletchley Park website, and information supplied by I J Good, all served in the Newmanry or the Testery, from c. 1944. On previous experience, the spelling of the names may not be completely trustworthy. Ideally, I should like to know (a) dates of birth and death, (b) secondary school attended, (c) university (and if Oxford or Cambridge also the college), (d) subject studied at university, (e) postwar career. In practice this is an appeal for any clues any of you may have. Tiny clues have helped in other cases, thanks to Google being wonderfully literal-minded and dogged. And hints that lead to identifying an Oxford or Cambridge college the man attended are particularly useful. Thank you for your help. Yours sincerely, J. V.
