Yes. Findhorn didn't start out as a full blown ecovillage. It started out
with 3 people in a tiny caravan parked in a dump left over from the
neighboring RAF base. The main street through the park is a former runway.
The land was actually classified as desert as the soil is mostly sand and
shale. A place no one would have wanted to live.
My own dream of starting an Urban Permaculture Community Center in a
depressed neighborhood of a depressed city would be the seed of an
ecovillage.
We should see the tiny groups calling themselves eco villages as seeds of a
village. And we need those seeds scattered where ever the land has been
disrupted.
