Why not bring exactly this back to the upstream project and join forces in = maintaining it? Chris Von: C=E9dric Damioli <[email protected]> Datum: Donnerstag, 12. September 2024 um 19:31 An: [email protected] <[email protected]> Betreff: Re: [RESULT] [VOTE] Move Apache Cocoon into the Apache Attic Hi, Sadly, there's not enough motivated individuals to keep the project running= as is. When we ran a poll 10 months ago, very few people actually volunteered to h= elp keeping Cocoon 2.3 alive, and the reality of these past 10 months is th= at nobody has barely done anything to move forward. Anyway, now that the Attic vote has passed, we have to move forward with th= e due process. C=E9dric Le 11/09/2024 =E0 13:27, Gabriel Gruber a =E9crit : >> Can you explain why you didn't via https://github.com/apache/cocoon ? Hmm, good question actually. I wasn=92t aware that the PR functionality was= actually really used to add enhancements to the project and I always felt = a little bit lost with the formal/administrative rules to get patches to th= e project, without being an official committer. Anyway I would be willing to add all necessary changes to make cocoon compa= tible with spring 5+ in a PR Cheerio, Gabriel From: Torsten Curdt <[email protected]><mailto:[email protected]> Date: Wednesday, 11. Having said that, we are usi= ng it still in production and trying to apply security patches on our own f= ork to make it compatible with newer versions of spring and java. If the project would continue on github, I can just stress again that I wou= ld be very happy to participate and share all our patches. Can you explain why you didn't via https://github.com/apache/cocoon ? Just trying to understand whether github would really make a difference. While I am still +1 for the attic (because I don't see anyone working on Co= coon in any form), it feels a little sad if there are individually maintained forks that could= as well be part of the project. cheers, Torsten --_000_AS2PR05MB102472AE91ABCBC889C3E5EBAA2652AS2PR05MB10247eu_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="Windows-1252" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <html xmlns:o=3D"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" xmlns:w=3D"urn:sc= hemas-microsoft-com:office:word" xmlns:m=3D"http://schemas.microsoft.com/of= fice/2004/12/omml" xmlns=3D"http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40">
<meta http-equiv=3D"Content-Type" content=3D"text/html; charset=3DWindows-1= 252"> <meta name=3D"Generator" content=3D"Microsoft Word 15 (filtered medium)">
<body lang=3D"DE" link=3D"blue" vlink=3D"purple" style=3D"word-wrap:break-w= ord"> <div class=3D"WordSection1"> <p class=3D"MsoNormal"><span lang=3D"EN-US" style=3D"font-size:11.0pt;mso-f= areast-language:EN-US">It does seem as if multiple people claimed to still = be using Cocoon, but maintaining their own forks.
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><span lang=3D"EN-US" style=3D"font-size:11.0pt;mso-f= areast-language:EN-US">Why not bring exactly this back to the upstream proj= ect and join forces in maintaining it?
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><span lang=3D"EN-US" style=3D"font-size:11.0pt;mso-f= areast-language:EN-US">
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><span lang=3D"EN-US" style=3D"font-size:11.0pt;mso-f= areast-language:EN-US">Chris
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><span lang=3D"EN-US" style=3D"font-size:11.0pt;mso-f= areast-language:EN-US">
<div id=3D"mail-editor-reference-message-container">

<div style=3D"border:none;border-top:solid #B5C4DF 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0cm = 0cm 0cm"> <p class=3D"MsoNormal" style=3D"margin-bottom:12.0pt"><span style=3D"col= or:black">Von: <span style=3D"color:black">C=E9dric Damioli <cdamioli@apache= .org>
Datum: Donnerstag, 12.
