I was studying some API's in python and spent a lot of time trying to figure out the datatype required by the constructor. I posted to a python list, and after some discussion they got what i meant and why it was important and said, "yes we too face it and we live without it." Similarly in perl , i have to actually run my application to discover a typo or variable error which means i could have actually done some processing before the error was reached. or i go through a whole flow to reach the error. Even then if there are some if conditions i have to go through each flow to check the error. In critical apps, i need a compiler that does all this before-hand. And as i say that, lemme ask: why do perl/python folks say that NOT having to compile improves productivity/ reduces devpt cycle? I have not been able to precompile jsps, and that has been resulting in run time errors days later which is embarrassing. > enlightening to know your definition of "untyped" here) Mary, didnt know you had the knack of humbling simple mortals like me ;) _______________________________________________ The ILUGD-Dev mailing list Ilugd-dev-cunTk1MwBs8/[email protected] Subscribe/Unsubscribe/Suspend your list membership at: http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd-dev
