I agree with your point to a large extent. However, the reason of my
post is different - it's your sig.

I am sorry to say that your sig is a complete lie. It is a result of
either total lack of information on the subject or wilful malice. I for
one have used BASIC for a long time when I was first exposed to
computers. (GW)BASIC was the first programming language I learnt at
school and used it along with 8086 Assembly for straight 3 years in a
row to write programs. Guess what, now I have moved on much further, but
I cherish those days.

Please refrain from giving in to such false ideas, or the temptation to
propagate it.
