Croombe, Easiest thing at this point in time, is to try another email client. When you do, set your test client to 'leave messages on server' or 'don't delete messages from server'.. whatever the case may be. Evolution has been quite buggy over the years, crashing, corrupting its database and what not. I've heard it is better as of late, but you could easily have a corruption issue, or a bug in your current version of Evolution. By using another mail client, you'll at least be sure that the problem is with Evolution or not. If you find the bug is with Evolution (which is probably is), then you should move forward from there. There were programs to rebuild Evolution's files, as it was very common for it to corrupt them. I'm not sure about current Evolution versions, my last experience with this software was about 5 years ago. You may have to find an Evolution specific forum to work out what bug you have.
