To look on servers for Email problems, I use poppy, a Perl script:

# and then selectively view, save, delete, or reply to messages

Check Evolution's filter settings (Evolution -> Edit -> Message Filters

I recall that, when I started with Evolution filters, I turned on filter
logging, but that setting seems to have disappeared (but my filter
logging continues) See

Have you checked the points in
