In this 1967 aerial view, you can see
the future site of the Magic Kingdom with Bay Lake in the background.
No white sand beaches surrounded Bay Lake, but then Disney worked
their magic to create those beautiful shorelines. Today, most of Bay
Lake's shorelines (including Discovery Island and Shipwreck Island)
are overgrown with small trees and bushes, similar to Bay Lake before
Disney.

The transformation of a swamp into the Vacation Kingdom of the World
is a testament to the ingenuity and creativity of all the teams who
worked on bringing Walt's final dream to life.
