Thanks James (I just dont know what evangelism means and am too lazy to look it up - english isn't my strong point!) I found out about PHP through an article which was published in a computer magazine. It had a tutorial showing the typical Hello World type script and went on from there. I found it easy to follow and this made me go to php.net to find out more. I only found out (well, I think I've found out) what PHP GTK is and I think this should recieve a lot of publicity as it could allow for cross-platform software development. I only went to gtk.php.net because there was a post in one of the other groups about it. Maybe you could get friendly with the people at Apache and get them to supply downloads which come with PHP bundled and pre-configured. PHP could be installed within the Apache directory. A reference to it could be made within the Apache docs also. I have no idea what PEAR is. I know its something to do with PHP but I've never had it shoved in my face to make sure I know what it is. A definitive, up to date list of hosts which support PHP would be useful. In particular free ones with comments by responsible PHP professionals so people can't just comment that the host is crap. If I think of any more wierd and wonderful ideas I'll post back again! ;) LJ
