Pierre, You might not like all that GPL/LGPL stuff and I do understand why. However, the fact is that LGPL for an external library is fully compatible with an extension distributed under the PHP License. Library vendors might want to protect themselves from companies taking their code and close-sourcing it. If LGPL is what is needed for us to get a hand on that code and make them feel safe about distributing it under a "more liberal" license, I'm fully okay with it. Barry: If you are ready to move to a BSD license, that would be best. However, if you need to stick to the GPL variants, LGPL will be sufficient to host your PHP License extension on PECL. Be aware though that the LGPL library cannot be "hosted" on PECL.
