Announcements

Hi!

Ok, here's another "How do you deal with this" question. At Nashville PHP,
Ben Ramsy prepares a slide deck of announcements each month. These usually
include:

* PHP announcements (e.g. new version)
* Conferences
* Our sponsor
* Local events/other UGs of interest

At the beginning of the meeting, he will go over them and if we have a
paying sponsor, give them 2 minutes to say hi.

My question:
How does your group handle announcements?
Do you cover events like conferences?
Are you friendly enough with other local UGs to announce their events?
Is there something that you are doing differently? (Only allow sponsors to
speak in rhyme, etc.) :)
