I'll expound on this a bit more…  

The first 30 minutes of our meeting time is our networking/food/hanging out time. During this time, I have the announcement slides on automatic rotation with about 10 seconds per slide. So, folks are able to see the announcements all during that time. It gives the sponsor some good exposure, too.

Additionally, I include details like wifi password, and I've even provided directions to the bathrooms in the past, when we were meeting in a place where they were difficult to find. :-)
