At AtlantaPHP, we have some prepared "warm-up" slides that we walk through
before our mini-presentation (if we have one) and the featured speaker.
These slides include pretty much everything Cal mentioned, including
sponsor info and logos. We also have a map screenshot of where we'll go
afterwards for food and drinks, if they aren't sponsored at the meeting.

We have a slide (or slides if the list is long enough) for upcoming local
Atlanta/regional events and one for "other" or non-local ones like tek,
ZendCon, and whatever Cal is putting on this month. :-) In cases where word
is out well in advance, we'll keep a given event on our slides until the
date has passed and we'll tweak them month to month as milestones come up
like "CfP open for X", then "Schedule posted and Early Bird registration
open until the 15th for X", and so on.

We try to keep things to special events like hackathons, *-Camps, etc.
unless it's something particularly noteworthy or PHP-related. We try to get
through these fairly quickly and get on with the presentations - if we
tried to announce regular meetings for related development groups, we'd
have 5 extra slides every time. I also usually ask the group if they've
heard of anything else coming up that I missed.

As we get to our sponsor slides, if there's a representative attending, we
let them have the floor for a minute or so.
